MOCA Bangkok

MOCA or Museum of Contemporary Art, Bangkok is a major art museum in Thailand. It was born from the deep passion for art of Khun Boonchai Bencharongkul. However, the main reason that led him to officially establish the Museum of Contemporary Art was far more significant.

The building’s design was inspired by the concept of a solid stone block intricately carved with jasmine vine patterns, symbolizing the uniqueness and elegance of Thai identity.

On each floor there were a many of the pictures of paintings and taking. They are come from Thai people did and collection of contemporary art from many countries e.g. China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Italy, Japan, United States, Russia, Australia, Norway.

The highlight is Richard Green room. The exhibition room is modeled after European museums, featuring a curved glass roof that allows natural light to illuminate the space. It showcases top-tier European paintings from the Victorian era, which corresponds to the reign of King Rama V of Thailand. The collection includes works by renowned artists such as Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema and John William Godward. Every piece is meticulously preserved, with some artworks dating back nearly 300 years.
